If humanity is fortunate enough to survive this century, a new science will likely emerge: a science of identity (a science of consciousness, a science of spirit). It will set itself apart from psychology, cultural studies, and political science in much the same way that these three sciences of the psyche once separated themselves from biology, economics, and sociology (the sciences of material systems and structures).
