Aging is just a genetic mechanism which protects us from a cancer. "Goal" of aging for our prehistoric ancestors was not to live less, but to make their youth more predictable. Do we need such a stabilization in the contemporary life? l guess no.
What is a life cycle in general? Not only the life cycle of a mammal, but also that of a bacterium, an atom (with its half-life), a corporation, or the global economy? It seems to me that this phenomenon can be understood only by comparing the themes of increasing complexity (progress, evolution) and love. I am convinced that most complex structures are created precisely without love, and as a result they inevitably end up becoming lifeless, falling apart, and ultimately succumbing to entropy.
