I propose that crime rates would drop significantly if people over the age of sixty were legally allowed to use hard drugs for free. Naturally, this reform would complicate the police's efforts to combat the spread of hard drugs among those under sixty, but the long-term benefits would outweigh the short-term costs. In addition to organized crime being reduced by two to three times, the number and intensity of military conflicts could decrease tenfold. Today, wealthy youth spend decades chasing increasingly sophisticated pleasures, while less affluent young people commit extreme crimes in pursuit of wealth. What drives them is the fear of a painful old age. If we make old age enjoyable, a significant portion of criminal motivation will be eliminated.
Why is rape considered a separate crime in most criminal codes rather than a form of torture? That's just dumb.
